About the Event
Join instructor and Peer Support Foundation President Jeremy Sprague for a 3-day Peer Support training.
The 7-hour Basic Peer Support will discuss the psychology of first responders throughout their career and how they are emotionally and physically affected by hypervigilance both short and long-term. It reviews basic self-care techniques for first responders. The training reviews basic peer support concepts, philosophy, and function. It reviews peer support best practices and policies from around the country. It discusses how a proactive peer support program can be helpful to first responders.
The ICISF Assisting Individuals in Crisis course is a 2-day course designed to teach participants the fundamentals of, and a specific protocol for, individual crisis intervention. This course is designed for anyone who desires to increase their knowledge of individual (one-on-one) crisis intervention techniques in the fields of Business and industry, Crisis Intervention, Disaster Response, Education, Emergency Services, Employee Assistance, Healthcare, Homeland Security, Mental Health, Military, Spiritual Care, and Traumatic Stress.
